Upper Chesapeake Health partnered with the University of Maryland Medical System for a new 120,000 square foot comprehensive cancer center. Leach Wallace provided the engineering design services for the three story building. The building was constructed to allow for three floors of future vertical expansion. Highlights include a state of the art conference center for telemedicine, two rooftop gardens, general pharmacy, two linac vaults, infusion rooms with 27 spacious bays and three private rooms, IV mixing room, chemo mixing room and mammography screening rooms. The state of the art facility also offers the Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator and CT Simulator technology. The $61 million Cancer Center expansion features new outpatient exam rooms, minor procedure rooms, and support spaces.
