Sibley Memorial Hospital
Leach Wallace Associates, Inc. was contracted by the Turner Construction Company to perform commissioning services for the New Tower installed at the Sibley Memorial Hospital. The new tower was constructed to join the existing hospital in Northwest, Washington DC. The tower is 450,000 square feet and includes 200 spacious, all-private rooms, a new emergency department with fast track facilities, a comprehensive decontamination facility and 18 labor & delivery suites.
The hospital also includes facilities for 4,500 newborn deliveries, a special care nursery, 50 postpartum rooms, oncology center, a 35-bay infusion center and new surgical facilities which include pre and post-operative holding rooms. The project achieved LEED certification. Leach Wallace performed full commissioning services of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety systems starting with early design reviews continuing through construction and occupancy.
