COMMISSIONING

Leach Wallace was selected to perform commissioning services for the new Children’s Hospital at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, the region’s only Level One Pediatric Trauma Center. The 5 story building consists of 263,000 square feet of clinical space, operating suites and surgical recovery area, cardiac catheterization lab for pediatric heart patients, expansive pediatric intensive care space and patient rooms. In addition, there is an outpatient pediatric cancer pavilion with infusion rooms and exam rooms to support bone marrow transplantation.

The commissioned systems include fire alarm, smoke and fire damper control, smoke control system, air handling units, air distribution devices and controls, all plumbing systems, domestic hot water, heating hot water, switch gear, distribution panels, lighting, lighting controls, emergency power, uninterruptible power, clean steam supply, condensate returns, process chiller, chilled water supply and low temperature operating rooms.
