STAUFFER BUILDING VERTICAL EXPANSION
Leach Wallace Associates supported Lancaster General Hospital with the mechanical and electrical systems design for the Stauffer Building Vertical Expansion. The project initially added 60 Private Patient Rooms to the hospital with shell space for another 40 Private Patient Rooms. The Vertical Expansion was constructed on the existing Stauffer building and added six (6) stories above the existing building. The third floor was dedicated to mechanical and electrical equipment, the fourth and fifth floors were constructed as shell space, and floor six through eight were fit out as medical/surgical space for single Patient Rooms, housing 20 beds on each floor. The existing ground, first, and second floors were expanded to the east and south. A new helipad was located on the roof of the Vertical Expansion.
