The five-story 502,608 SF replacement hospital was constructed on the existing campus of the Meritus Regional Medical Center. The floor plan comprises 247 acute care beds and 20 comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation beds, all in single rooms. The project was designed to adjoin the Meritus Regional Medical Center, a 370,000 SF condominium, with an array of outpatient health and medical services. All five stories house hospital departmental space and patient rooms, including Emergency, Imaging, Outpatient Services, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Behavioral Health, and three levels of inpatient nursing units for adult Medical/Surgical and comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation beds.
The ground level includes the Emergency Department, Behavioral Health Unit, Imaging, Pharmacy, Cardio-Pulmonary Services, Dietary, and other support services. A Service Building was also built on this level for laundry and other non-clinical support functions. The second level includes Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Newborn unit, Comprehensive Outpatient Department, Surgery, Cardiovascular Rehab and Catheterization Laboratories.
